Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India visits Tele-Medicine Centre

Hon`ble Mr. Dinesh Trivedi, Minister of State for Health & family affairs, Govt. of India, accompanied by the following dignitaries/senior officers from India, visited the Tele-Medicine center at Black Lion Hospital, Addis Ababa on 27th October 2009:

The Minister witnessed live the CME session being delivered from the Tele-medicine set up of the Pan-African e-Network at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) , New Delhi. The CME lecture was on Management of Asthma in Children, and was presented by Dr. Rakesh Lodha, Associate Professor, Pediatrics, AIIMS. At the end of the session, the Minister interacted on-line with Dr. Lodha and extended his appreciation on the excellent presentation. Mr. Sandeep Dikshit, Hon`ble MP also appreciated the presentation. About 38 doctors, mainly from the pediatrics department attended the session.

TCIL Project Director also explained to him the medical facilities available at the center.

The Minister met the Professor of Pediatrics and other senior doctors of Black Lion Hospital and expressed satsfaction on the CME sessions and other facilities extended by the Government of India to the pracising doctors and the patients at Tele-Medicine center. He also commended the efforts being made by TCIL on the effective implementation of the project in other participating countries of Africa.
